Praying With The Scriptures- For Healing…

“Why do bad things happen to good people?” Some ask. Well, we’re all here on earth; the consequence of that is there’s no escaping of unpleasant events surfacing occasionally to people. One of such unpleasant thing is sickness.

One time or the other, everyone has been sick. Maybe not so much as to be admitted in the hospital, but someway, somehow, we’re bound to fall sick. The good news is that we cannot stay sick as we have a custom-made solution. It’s just at the tip of our fingers. No matter how grievous and life-threatening the sickness might be. This solution is tested and trusted and I tell you, it works better than magic!

We’ve made the point before now that there’s nothing that can’t be found in the Scriptures… Ranging from academics, healing, prosperity, the knowledge of God’s will, protection, understanding, and just about anything! Anything you need solution to can be found in the Scriptures and since it’s God’s Word, it definitely works!

It should be noted that this post is not to demean the work of the Doctors because they’re doing a terrific job saving lives. Matter of fact, you should visit the hospital often for checkups. However, there’s no wrong in it to invite the Doctor of all doctors before you invite His interns (apologies to Doctors please). The Doctor of all Doctors is Jesus Christ. I’m pretty sure you must have come across it in several hospitals, it does seem to be their motto. It reads: “WE CARE, BUT GOD HEALS.”

Why then don’t you take the matter first to that God that heals before handing the matter to those who care. I mean, whatever wisdom the Doctors have to do whatever it is they’re doing to save lives is given by God.
Healing has really been one of the top priorities of humans. A little discomfort in your body, no matter how little it is can be very discomfiting and can literally ruin your day or your week. Before we move on, I need to state it that going to the doctor is absolutely a sign of sign of faith. You do believe that you can be healed and you will be healed!

The point here is, on your way to the Doctors, relay the information first to the giver of life, the one who heals.
The Doctors have said that patients who believe they’ll survive a life-threatening ailment end up being survivors and living longer. While those who have little to no faith end up leaving earth even before their time is up.

Our Lord Jesus does not have limited healing in His store house. He has it in abundance. Take His life on earth for an example; anywhere He went to, it is said that He healed all. In all gatherings and meetings of Jesus with the sick, no one went back home with their sickness. Jesus took care of it all! When He also sent His disciples out to go and preach and teach, they healed all as well! The Apostles did a good job on distributing the power of the healing anointing they had on the sick that were brought to them so much so that someone’s shadow was healing the sick and another person’s cloth was healing the sick (I'm guessing you know these men).

Do not think your situation to be too peculiar to not be part of the healing package of Jesus. He does not segregate who or what to heal. He is ever ready and present to heal all! What a good Lord we have!

The Lord who gave the command to go out and preach the Gospel and heal the sick, do you then think He doesn’t have enough healing to go round?

Confessing the Scriptures and praying for and on yourself before going to the Doctor or on your way to the Doctor is a solution that’d fast track your healing process. Whether or not your healing is instant, you’d still get healed. There’s a but though, if you’re confessing out of fear and you’re not sure you’re going to get results, there’s a slight possibility that you’d receive your healing.

Confess with your mouth and believe the Lord that you will receive your healing. Not just that, the healing will remain permanent.
You’ve probably heard that healing is the children’s bread. This is the scenario that brought about that statement… Remember that woman in Mark 7:25-30 who asked Jesus to heal her sick daughter and Jesus told her…
“…Let the children be filled first, for it is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” (v. 27)

The woman was asking for healing and Jesus, using a figure of speech referred to it (healing) as “the children’s bread” which is to mean that it is readily made available for those who in the real sense are “children of God!” Other translations refer to it as “food.” Definitely, food is essential for an individual. It’s a must. Therefore, comparing food with healing, Jesus said it’s for us, His children! The Lord does not handpick those He heals. It’s for everyone! Whether your healing happens instantly or not does not reduce the efficacy of the Word of God. All you need do on your part is faith. Keep confessing and you’ll see healing happen!

The Bible says in Hebrews 11:1
“To have faith is to be sure of the things we hope for, to be certain of the things we cannot see.” (GNT)
You don’t have faith for what you can see. You have faith for what you hope to see!

The Bible verses below are not limited to a kind of sickness. From headache, to cancer, to cramps, to a broken bone of the body, to a rare condition of 1 out of a thousand, there’s no sickness too strong or rare to resist the Word of God.

Do place your hand on any part of your body where you’re feeling sick or having pains and confess these Bible verses with all assurance and faith you can muster.

Personalize it and speak out. Don’t read it in your mind. Read it out and whether or not you get healed immediately, keep confessing till the words become life to you and till your health returns! If you’re on drugs, confess the Scriptures even as you take your drugs, please.

Do confess and personalize these Scriptures loud and clear…

“For I will restore health to you And heal you of your wounds,’ says the Lord, ‘Because they called you an outcast saying: “This is Zion; No one seeks her.”

“Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for you are my praise.”

“Behold, I will bring to it health and healing, and I will heal them and reveal to them abundance of prosperity and security.”

“He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed.”

“The Lord sustains him on his sickbed; in his illness you restore him to full health.”

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”

“Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.”

Isaiah 53:4‭-‬5‬‬‬‬‬
“Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”

“The Lord will protect you from all sickness, and He will not bring on you any of the dreadful diseases that you experienced in Egypt, but He will bring them on all your enemies.” (GNT)

“Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? Why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?”
(You can confess this one this way: “There is a balm in Gilead. There is a physician there. My sound health is recovered, and I receive my healing… in Jesus name, Amen!”)

There are more… you can search the Scriptures to find more and I believe God with you that you will find that healing and it will stay in Jesus name. Amen.

It’s not just the health that needs healing. Your spiritual life, finances, academics, and anything that doesn’t seem to be working well for you needs healing! In subsequent articles, we’ll treat them as well…
