I see it almost everywhere I turn to that believers should “go for a retreat before the year ends.” It’s the best advice and it’s not too late to start now. If you don’t have the luxury of locking yourself up somewhere, just create a particular time, either during the day or at night when you’ll fellowship with your Father.
Hear God for yourself on what 2024 holds
for you personally. I know denominations and all will have their watchword for
the year. What’s your personal word for the year. For this year, it was “Unlimited
Favour” for me. Truth be told, I experienced favour like never before. Some
things that seemed so difficult for others and even for myself came to me with
ease and I’m beginning to grasp what The Lord has for me for the coming year. I
don’t have the full template yet.
I don’t have the luxury of locking myself
up somewhere but I plan to create time for just the Father and I at a
particular time, not just to get the Word for next year but to hear from Him. I
did most of the talking to God this year. Right now, I need Him to do the
talking while I listen.
You can also have one at the start of next
year. Actually, you should retreat often in order to refill. Take Jesus for
example; He often withdrew Himself from the crowd and even His disciples and
pray all night. You’re not busier than Jesus when He was here. Find the time to
fellowship with Him and in all your new year resolution, do not forget to
include spiritual exercises.
