Day 16

Did you know? (Part 2)

Just in case, you've not read the first part, check it out here...

  1. There’s at least one Old Testament quote in every chapter of Hebrews.
  2. There are 365 “fear nots” in the Bible. That’s one for each day of the year!
  3. The Bible is the most stolen Book in the world. They’re regularly taken from hotels, hospitals, book stores and other locations.
  4. The verse exactly at the centre of the Bible is Psalm 118:8. It reads, “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.”
  5. The Bible is the bedrock of the publishing industry. The oldest book printed by moveable type is the Gutenberg Bible printed by John Gutenberg in 1450.
  6. Elisha raised just 2 people from the dead; one when he was alive (2 Kings 4:18-37) and one when he died (2 Kings 13:20-21).
  7. Angels do eat sometimes (Genesis 18:1-8, 19:1, Psalm 78:23-25)
  8. A score means “20.” Threescore is simply 3ˣ20, which equals 60.
  9. All Scriptures Jesus quoted to the devil during the temptation are from the book of Deuteronomy.
  10. Samson’s hair never grew back (Judges 16:28-31).
  11. Jesus was the One who gave Peter the name, “Peter.” His birth name is Simon (Matthew 16).
  12. Joseph Kenny Coker led the first Church in Nigeria in 1901. He’s often regarded as the father of indigenous Church in Africa.
  13. It didn’t rain immediately Noah got into the ark. The rain started 7 days later (Genesis 7:9-11).
  14. There were some animals that entered in sevens, and not all entered in twos.
  15. It took Noah 120 years to build the ark.
  16. Samuel was descended from Korah (1 Chronicles 6:16-30, 33-43), whom God killed by swallowing him up in the earth when he rebelled against Moses and Aaron (Numbers 16:1-35).
  17. The word “Exodus” means “out of” or “going out.”
  18. After the flood, God placed the “fear and dread” of man within all animals (Genesis 9:2).
  19. The period of time between the events of the Old and New Testament is called the “Intertestamental Period.” It is generally considered to be a little over 400 years, and therefore called the “400 silent years” because there was no prophetic word from God during this time. (Some apocryphal books were written in this time).
  20. All books of the New Testament contain the word “Amen” except for the book of Acts, James, and 3rd John.
Which of them did you know?
