I’ve touched on this topic before now. I’ll share the link below the write-up but first, let me share with you something I wrote in my book around September.
“Music/songs have a
spirit. A human is not void of a spirit and spirits need a body to function. Anything
and everything we see is the product of a spirit operating through a body;
which is why people can listen to songs into praying, and another into
fornication.
I mean, access the one
singing the song for instance. How do they look and how do you look? The lyrics
as well, do they make sense? Quite frankly, some of the lyrics make sense, and
even resonates but what spirit is behind the song? (I believe you know I’m
referring to worldly secular music. I know some argue that there are secular
songs that are not worldly. However, you’ll read more about that in the link
I’ll share beneath this particular post). Why do people listen to songs and cry?
As believers, we shouldn’t glorify songs that fuels depression and dampens the
faith.
Rather, we should sing
and listen to songs that brings joy and fuels the faith because your joy should
be intact and not to be tampered with because you’re a believer.
The evil spirit that
was on King Saul was not of The Lord because The Lord do not possess an evil
spirit (I mean, He’s too good to have an evil spirit as His beck and call).
What happened was that The Spirit of The lord left him and that paved way for
the evil spirit to step in; which is why whenever David played the harp, the
evil spirit leaves Saul and he becomes calm (2 Samuel 16:23). As a result of
David’s playing of the musical instrument, The Spirit of the Lord was invited
and both the Spirit of the Lord and that of the devil cannot dwell together.
Songs and their lyrics
are just words with musical rhymes, and they can be personalized which is why
we should be careful because whatever we say about ourselves eventually becomes
our reality.”
